Membership Policies

  • 1. Membership Categories
    • a) Individual Member:
      Any Bangladeshi or Qatari national who holds all the following:
      • i) a professional or managerial position in an esteemed organization in Qatar;
      • ii) a valid Qatar residence permit;
      • iii) minimum of a Bachelor degree from a recognized university.
    • b) Corporate Member:
      Any reputable company registered in Qatar. The company must have a minimum annual turnover of Qatari Riyals 01 (one) million or a higher level to be unanimously decided by the Committee for any particular period or thereafter. Turnover must be validated by an audit firm.
    • c) Honorary Member:
      • i) H.E. The Ambassador or the Charge de Affairs of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh to the State of Qatar will be an Honorary member of the Forum.
      • ii) Any distinguished individual with the unanimous decision of the Committee.
    • d) Associate Member:
      An individual who is not a resident of Qatar or otherwise are not eligible for Individual or Corporate membership but are able to demonstrate their support for the objectives of the Forum and for the development of relations between Bangladesh and Qatar. All individual members who no longer reside in Qatar, shall be encouraged to stay as Associate Members and be an ambassador of BFQ in their current location. However, Associate Members will have no voting rights in any decision-making nor can be a member of the committee nor can run for the post of President.
  • 2. All membership shall be approved by the EC.
  • 3. A person shall not be eligible to apply for membership if the person is holding a leadership position in any registered or unregistered political organization.
  • 4. A person shall not be eligible to run for committee membership or be a member of AB if the person is holding a leadership position in any registered or unregistered competing forum or association
  • 5. No member will receive any remuneration, allowances, and benefits directly or indirectly for his or her services towards BFQ.
  • 6. Termination of Membership
    • i) Membership shall be terminated if a member is found to be engaged in any activities that violate the laws of the country. The Committee shall serve a notice of a maximum of seven days to the alleged member.
    • ii) If any member misbehaves with any other member or goes against the spirit of the Forum, membership can be terminated unless the alleged member can prove his/her innocence.
    • iii) Any member of the Committee absent from three consecutive meetings without a valid reason communicated to the Vice President of Organizational Development will be notified, and membership will be suspended. Membership shall be terminated for absences from the fourth consecutive meeting pending EC and AB approval.
